project blue brain- making clone of human brain!

One may be awestruck to know that a human brain contains about a thousand million neurons. Human brain had always been a piece of wonder for us. The complexity of neural circuits inside the brain while the same person undergoes various emotions under various circumstances will be made easier to analyse using computer simulations in the near future. Scientists from hardware Giant IBM and neuro-scientists from Switzerland's Federal Institute of Technology have joined hands to make this dream come true in their latest project- PROJECT BLUE BRAIN.

The main aim of the project is to make the computerised clone of neural circuits of cortex of the brain, the core of conscience, intelligence, thought and caution.

Now experiments are conducted on mice and successful "clone" of neocortical column of the mice have been already made. If we go in this pace, maybe we will be able to clone human brain into a computer and retrieve all the secrets of it within ten years.

The application of such a project comes in the area of Artificial intelligence, where the clone of human brain can be utillised for creation of new robots which think and behave like humans!
